Last month I went to Sutherlyn East Orlando to trade my leased Nissan Sentra for another Sentra. I was approached by salesmen Javon ( do not remeber his surname) and told hi the whole 9 yards about my new purchase and specifically told him that I did not wanted a deal different than what I was proposing.

He asked me to choose a car first and before I chose any he showed up with a black Nissan. I told him no I do not want black this is Florida the sun will kill me. He did not like that too much but I found a model that suits me so the saga started. After 20-30minutes he came with a proposal 300 dollars higher than what I asked so I asked him why he was making me wast my time, he started telling me that I was yelling at him that he did not had any power over the numbers and so on.

Well we got to a very close number to my proposal but now I would not have a lease and will pay for my car for 6 years!! Not happy at all and he did not confirm that they will honor his word he started filling up all papers necessary for the sale and after that he made me wait almost 2 more hours to seat in front of the closer and finish the paper work. He did not provide me carpet mats , car manual AND second key. before I left, I talked to one of the sales managers about my experience and asked why car sales person do that, always bring a really bigger price than customer is asking and he told me that that is how they train their sales people and add they they are not trained to deal with customers like me !!

I called Nissan and a manager told me that they will send a locksmith to my house to cut another key because if they ask Nissan to do that it will cost a lot more ( for them! ). I set up the appointment 3 times and by the day of the 3rd one I went to the dealership to find out that Javon, my sales person, never finished the papers on returning my lease. But unfortunately the saga does not stop there as I asked them to find a car exactly the same as my wife is driving as her lease is about to expire.

The first MANAGER who contact her did not even open her file to see what kind of car I was talking about. Then a second manager came through apologizing and saying that he would look for it.

WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS ARE YOU RUNNING THERE? Never again Sutherlyn never again

Bait and switch

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I received an offer thru True Car. Called dealer to confirm the car quoted was on the lot.

I arrived at the dealer and was told the car had been sold in the two hours between when I checked on the vehicle and when I arrived. The dealer showed me a similar car and said he would work with me to get the price I was quoted. As we were going over the quote there were additions for nitrogen and environmental charges amounting to about $2000. Dealer could not explain the environmental charges.

The salesman left for about 30 minutes and returned with an out the door price $5000 above the original quote,

Don’t waste your time at this dealer.

They are old style deceitful dealers. I have never had an issue like this before at Toyota of Honda.

We bought a 2016 caravan and traded in 2013 caravan. The new car purchase was in my son's name and the car that was traded was in my husband name so we had paid for new tags of course and it was included in the fees for a new tag they took the old tag and gave us a temporary tag because we we're not transferring tags.So in September when the temporary tag was about to expire we called to see if our tags came in, they had said no so they went and gave us another temporary tag when those tags expired my husband called and asked if tags came, still were not ready in November when my husband went to the dealership they gave him one of their dealer tags and said that our tags were still not there then when I had called they told me that it was a DMV problem not there's so when I called the DMV in Orlando Maralyn said that sutherlin Nissan has had our new tag since October they had the tag when they gave my husband a dealer tag and now come December 13 we are forced to pay another $279 to get our tags that they are holding hostage until we pay it to them because they are now stating that we only paid for transfer tags, when I asked why if I paid for transfer then why do I have dealer tags and why if that was the case why didn't we just transfer old plate there that day, why would we need temporary tag? Manager stated he didn't know. I then asked if car traded in was in my husband's name and new car is in my son's name how could dealer not know would need new tag. I had pay double for my tags and I am a disabled 53 year old that needs my send to drive me to my doctor's appointments and Nissan has not listen the three managers do not do not pay attention and did not care.my husband informed manager that he is paying again but will be contacting BBB and manager asked what is BBB, really a car dealership wouldn't know BBB? Product_Or_Service: 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like first and a apology from southern Nissan and that also every fund of the 279 that I was forced to pay did you tell them holding my tags that they have had since October 22nd of 2018 and although they had it in November they gave my husband a dealer tag stating that are tags are still not in and then three stories later stating that we did not pay for new tax but a transfer tag I would like a refund

Purchased Two Cars With Bogo Deal At New Car Dealership

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Hello, my wife and I went to Sutherlin Nissan to purchase 2 cars at same time because we heard the advertisement on the radio from Sutherlin Nissan offering a bogo deal. We went up to Sutherlin Nissan on 1/31/15 and spoke with a salesman who's name is Aaron J.D.Amico, and we sat down and Aaron told us in order to take advantage of the bogo deal, we had to purchase the more expensive Altima as first choice, and then the second car would be the cheaper car.

We chose the Altima and the second car we chose was a 2014 Nissan Sentra. We had a 2014 Nissan Versa to trade in also, but we had negative equity in this car. Aaron gave us $12,000 for our Versa, and we owed $15,016.00 on the Versa. So we had a negative equity of $3016.00.

We haggled over keeping the price hopefully under $400.00 a month, but at the end we agreed at a monthly price of $550.00 a month which was what the figures came up with. We went into the finance officer's office, and his name is Sammy, and Sammy was having alot of trouble with his printer and could not print out the finance documents, so we ended up waiting in his office for over one hour before he could begin printing out the documents and contracts. When the documents were finally printed out needless to say Sammy was rushing us to just look quickly and sign to finish up everything after so much wasted time and trouble with his printers. So we looked over the documents quickly and signed everything, they took our Versa and Brought out two new cars, the 2015 Altima and the 2014 Sentra.

Sammy explained to us that the Sentra would be free for two years of lease, and Sutherlin would cut us a check to cover two years of lease which was $299.00 a month for 24 months totalling $7176.00. Sammy said we are loosing alot of money on these Bogo deals, but they need to keep their customers happy. Sutherlin did cut us the check and we just transferred all the funds to Nissan Finance to cover us for 2 years of lease payments. But a week later I look at our contracts and finance and I recognize that Sutherlin Nissan charged us an initial price for the Altima of $29,688.00 or almost $30,000.00.

I check online and find out that the Altima we purchased with same options cost no more than $23,500.00 to $24,000.00. I immediately go back up to Sutherlin to let them know this and ask if they can adjust our monthly payments and purchase price down to the true value of the vehicle, and they continue to say we got a good deal because we got the second car free for 2 years. A couple of days later I go back up to Sutherlin Nissan and talk to another Finance Manager because Sammy is not in and is off that day. I tell this other Finance Manager the same story that we were charged way too much for the Altima, and this Finance Manager tells me that how do you expect us to pay for your two years of free lease in the Sentra unless we offset that loss with raising the initial price of the Altima.

I tell this Finance manager that no one there when we first came to purchase these cars with the bogo deal told us that these two cars are a package deal and the initial first car choice's price would be raised accordingly to offset the 2 years free lease of the second vehicle. If they had told us this we would of never purchased these 2 vehicles because that would mean this is not a true bogo deal and that we are still just paying full price for two cars. And we were charged twice as much on our interest rate than we were paying for our trade-in car or the Versa which was something else we did not understand since our credit rating had not changed in the least when we financed our Versa. I went to our bank who financed our Versa at the low interest rate and told them we had a new car and that it was a 2015 Altima.

I gave them at the bank the contract for the Altima purchase, and they flatly came out and told me they cannot refinance this Altima because we paid way too much for this vehicle, and that the Altima is only valued at $23,500.00 and maybe $24,000.00 with all the options we have in it. Our bank could not help us refinance this car.We have been agonizing over being ripped off by this Dealership for many months now, and have made almost seven monthly payments on it already that was so hard to do. We cannot enjoy this car at all because we know we paid way too much for it.My wife and I have been constantly arguing over what we paid for this car, and we cannot find any help in this matter.

We pray you can help us out of this situation Mr. Newlin

I many years ago was ripped off by a car deal. At that time there was no lemon laws on the books.

The car I had was in the shop 18 days out of the 30 days I had it. I took it in on a Friday and they said they were to busy to look at it and they were short handed and I would need to come back Monday to get it fixed. Well when I when back on Monday they total me I only had 30 days and the 30 days were up Saturday and I would need to pay for any repairs I wanted. This was in the 70's when 30 days was the normal.

Any way I said if I am going to have to pay for this car for the next 4 years because you can not find out what the problem is and fix it, then I will cost you more money in lost sales then it will cost me in the next 4 years to pay for a car that is not driveable. I talked to a Lawyer and told him what I was thinking of doing. What he told me was I could but last months special and this months lemon on my sign as long as I did not put the dealers name on the sign and I was not on there property. I said the name of the car dear was on the car.

He said the dealer put that on the car and not me so that would be on them. They were right off a main road where you could park right in from of the dealer with no problem. They came out and tried to convince me that I was going against the law and I reply with what the Lawyer total me. They left me along that day but the next day when I pulled up at front of the dealership the owner and his Lawyer were there.

I total them what my Lawyer said and I told them I followed what he told me to do to the letter. The owner asked for a minute to talk to his Lawyer. To make a long story short. When they came back the took the car back and gave me a new car to replace the one they could not fix.

Also sitting out in front of the dealership with the sign on the top of my car got TV spots which I did not even think about. So yes I was going to cost him more money they he would have ever gotten from me. Later because of this there became laws called the lemon laws to protect buyers. I do think you should call a Lawyer because in your case it sounds like fraud and they might be able to get your money back.

Even if you have to go to a TV stations and try them in the court of public opinion. Cost them more then what they took from you. It will so they will not do this to other people. I did not think about that but in my case it did help a lot of other people I never even thought about.

Fight back and do not let them get away with what they did to you.

Also I would like to thank you for writing about this company you have already saved my family from this ripe off. Good luck.

This place announced the raffles of two new vehicle during one night November 2017, because we're close by we called first. Someone told us, participants must be present, to win.

When I asked how many people were participating at 7pm he said only twenty people have completed registration. And the last registration would be given at 7:45pm; we arrived at 7:30pm thinking we are facing 18 other people. Not bad for two vehicles. The woman at the registration counter insisted we had arrived too late, " the registration was closed, already, we can't sign in" I asked for the manager because I felt I was lied to, I had called ahead, placed on hold several times, from rep to rep, and it was not fair, to return home without a chance.

The drawing went on, they asked children under six to draw the names, of course we didn't win, but I left with a sense of mistrust, because there were over a 150 people in the lobby already waiting, and by 7:55, a hundred more showed up. I would have not gone, if I would been told there's a large number of registered hopefuls, they mislead and did not answer in a Frank manner, which give me a sense, of bad business practices, to lie and hide the truth from truth seeking families.

I was going to go down and find out more about this deal. After reading this I don't need to thanks for not making me waste my time. So for all that you endured

Wow, I went to this dealership for another of their so call promotions, it was the "auction car sale" as soon as I step into this dealership and saw this sales people I knew what they were offering was a rip off, this dealership is why people do not trust car salesman, something must be done about them!

Thank you for sharing your story. I also was considering this deal I heard on the radio.

You saved me a lot of money potentially so at least you have helped other people avoid your fate and can sleep better at night knowing that. I really do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Guest

I'm sorry for what you are both going thru. It is very bad business to take advantage of customers.

Thank you for sharing your story, we were considering buying the BOGO- but not now! We are praying for you - please don't let them win by coming between you and yr spouse!

Guest

You need to look at the paperwork. The dealer tried selling us a car for 2500 more than they had it in an ad online.

They only offered to bring the price down when I showed them it was the same *** car with the same *** year sticker on the window. Dealers are crooks and you need to beat them at their own game. You are pretty dumb for thinking the dealer would actually give you something free.

This is America. Nothing is free.

Guest

Sutherland in ft Myers is offering the same Bogo deals. ANY and ALL salesperson who work on commissions are crooks. Oh for the day you can order your vehicle on line so we can put remove these bottom feeders from the public domain.

Guest

All car dealers are *** bags.

Guest

Join the club. I just got ripped off in Vero Beach. I love the car I got but I hate deception and lies and that's what went on

Guest

This is true with all car dealers. ALL OF THEM.

You are in control.

Make your own deal. Figure what you are willing to pay for the car. Get on the internet and find a amortization calculator, figure your payment by plugging in the amount financed minus the down payment and the interest rate and amount of months you are willing to pay and if it is agreeable to you, go to the dealer and tell them your deal. If they say no, leave.

Give them your phone number because they will call you. Everything they say is a lie. What ever they say goes in one ear and out the other. You are there to make YOUR deal only.

Take it from me, an x car guy that was the second highest earner in hundreds of salesmen. I got out of the business just in case ther is a judgement day.

There is no other way. Be warned.

Guest

Here is how you win at car buying.

1) buy for price, not for payments.

2) buy for price not looks

3) by for price

For example:

I just leased a new commuter car for myself. Zero down $625 drive off $108 a month for 10k miles a year.

$3888.00 total payments from me. I work less than 10 miles from home - mileage not a problem The state has a rebate program for my car of $2500. $3888.00 - $2500 = $1388 + $625 = $2013. New car, 4 year 50kmile warranty leased for 3 years at $2013.

36/$2013 = $56 a month. No need to pray for help if you just use the brain God gave you

Did they charge you any taxes for leasing?

Guest

To all who say the buyer beware, I think you are idiots and one day you will get you deal too good to be true. For the rest of you, obviously scammed by this dealer, contact the state's attorney general, Pam Bondi's office and file a claim and follow up on it.

I had a similar consumer fraud years ago when I tried to change cable providers.

The AG's office was able to get me out of my locked in contract with the first company and with a little more trouble force the second company to honor their come-on offer that enticed me to change initially. Hope this helps and good luck.

Guest

You people with your great credit and money in the bank... You do realize that it's you who are the targets of every scam out there.

From now on, you call someone that is a family member to assist you with these things. You don't deserve money if you're too *** to spend it correctly.

Read contracts. Or do you not know how to read either?

Guest

Thank you for sharing your story. I heard this deal today on the radio and I was wondering how this dealer's bogo works.

Guest

You are ***.

Discriminated Against and Falsley Denied Credit

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My husband and I went into Sutherlin Nissan, Orlando to purchase a used 2017 Nissan Armada SV, VIN # JN8AY2NDXH900**** on 5/2/18. We went to the dealer after work with a 13 month old that usually goes to bed at 8PM. I am currently pregnant and we have a college student we needed to pick up that weekend from Tallahassee for the summer. We need a full size SUV to accommodate our growing family.

We came in Prequalified through Capital One Finance up to 35K. We had the preapproval letter with us. We told the dealer we wanted to purchase the vehicle ONLY with Capital One Finance as we have another vehicle financed with them and it was a seamless process. The finance manager told us Capital One would not approve us for the Armada. The Nissan Finance Manager told us he could do nothing with our credit scores of 505 and 575. The dealer told us we were only approved for 19K and could put us in a new Nissan Sentra!!! We came for a full size SUV for our growing family not to mention my husband is 6’4. Insults! The Nissan Finance Manager told us Capital One would not approve that vehicle and sent us out the door.

The next morning 5/3/18 I called Capital One Finance only to find out The Nissan Finance Manager NEVER ran our application through Capital One at all. Capital One advised that we are approved at the terms stated above. I spoke with Sam Souryal, Nissan Finance Manager immediately after the call to Capital One. Mr. Souryal ran our credit through Capital One Finance and he confirmed we are approved and can finish the deal now... Nissan Finance discriminated against me and my husband. The Nissan Finance Manager looked at our black skin and our credit and made a judgement. He denied us without filing our application at all to the lender we came in prequalified through. He lied to us. The Nissan Finance Manager obviously had some kickback by using Nissan Motor Credit to finance the vehicle as that is the ONLY finance company he ran our credit through that evening. We left that evening so embarrassed and discouraged we failed to get the name of the finance manager.

Sutherlin/Victor Mercado offered nothing to make the situation right, not even a small decrease in price. We contacted Nissan Corporate via email on 5/3/18. Lynzi, Executive Specialist, 615-725-**** called me 5/4/18 and offered to give us an incentive to finish the deal. After a few days went by we were again insulted by Nissan Corporate offering to give us the “Employee Discount” that could only be used in 45 days and by certain lenders. I asked, what is the amount? She told me anywhere from $500-****.00 depending on the dealership and vehicle and other factors… What does that mean? This is not a resolution, it’s a range of nonsense. Nissan Finance company behaved unethically by lying to us and denying us credit when we were qualified.

This unethical lending practice should not be tolerated and we are seeking monetary damages.

The lesson you shared with everybody is a lesson you should also learn. If you just walk into a dealership looking for a car and don't have a clue about it, the salesperson will recognize that a mile away.

Their job is to sell you something and make as much money as possible in the process. Their job is NOT to give you a good deal. It's to get as much out of you as they can and make you THINK you got a good deal. The only way to keep from getting screwed is to do your homework and not be gullible.

So really, you shouldn't be ticked at the dealership. You should look in a mirror and say to yourself, "I wasn't very smart."

Frank the finance manager and Kenny the salesman, How do you sleep at night, Liars and crooks! $9500 online price, they charged $995 more at dealership calling it "pre-delivery".

Told them wasn't paying it and the hid the fees in contract. I bought a 2012 transit connect and the same day I had engine problems, the van would jump rpm's over 60 mph called salesman next day and they gave me a run around to get me to run out of time, The salesman told me he would look into it and said I must have bought a short distance vehicle which the problem was bad transmission. They told me i had the best warranty and no worries for 24k miles. I have a drivetrain warranty only and never received any warranty papers or anything but sales contract. The van was taken to Greenway Ford who fixed transmission and was out of a vehicle for 3 weeks.

I've only had it back 5 weeks and harmonic balancer is out. Called to have service and they said not covered under warranty and I have the lowest warranty drive train only. So I have financed a $9500 and with 6% interest and all there fees is $17000 on a vehicle that will not run and has little to no warranty. THANKS!

You will be hearing from me real soon! I did get a text with a picture of warranty contract from kenny the salesman which was never signed by me because I've never seen it.

On my service contract they call it Royal plan. There is no ROYAL plan.!

WORST EXPERIANCE EVER

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Worst experience ever at Sutherland Nissan. My wife and I went there based on an LE Murano they had listed at $20,000.

I had emailed them prev asking an out the door price with a $5,000 trade and was told around $17,400 so i listed this as our 1st stop on our car search. We get there and a sales rep walks up to us and I ask if they still have the LE Murano and was told no they didn't have any used LE models available. He proceeded to show us the 3 used ones they did have and we test drove a 2013 SL model and proceeded to go inside to see if we could work the numbers so we could buy it. We were adamant about what we wanted for a payment and terms of 48 months and we will not budge on this point.

The price online for this SL was $21,988 and they brought the price down to $19,100 and gave us $5,000 for our trade and proceeded to sign all there forms and signed over my title. Then the incredible happened the internet sales guy Matthew Kimmel comes over and asks why we didn't want the LE Murano that he priced for us. I explained we were told it was no longer available. He then proceeds to tell us that the prev rep is upset with us and that we are trying to scam them!!!!

What the... I cannot believe where this is going. I explain again the LE is not here we have already processed paperwork for this SL model He says the numbers are wrong unless we wanted to agree to longer terms. I asked for the manager which after 5-10 min I had to get up walk over 30 ft to where the manager was and have him come over.

Instantly this Matthew comes back over and sits in. I explained this whole thing to the manager and how we were accused of trying to scam them. He says let me see about this and what we can do. They both get up and come back several minutes later.

He says why didn't you want to buy this LE model?? he brings up there website which shows the listed LE model and it turns out it is listed incorrectly as an LE (most likely by this internet sales rep Matthew) and proceed to not say were sorry about how we treated you or there incorrect listing instead blame us for not looking at the picture as we should have noticed it didn't look like an LE!! yeah right like I am an expert I relied on them for that. then the manager says we will help you out we will sell you the SL model at our cost.

I am thinking ok they are finally going to make good on the price agreed and the *** they just put me and my wife through. Our cost is $23,983.00...... I am now in utter disbelief and explain it is listed on there web site for $21,988 and was just offered to have it reduced to 19,100. oh and I forgot to mention thru this whole thing we had asked several times to bring back the other 2 reps only to be told they could not find them.

Needless to say we left after being embarrassed, humiliated and treated like dirt. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS AT ALL AND AS A 3 TIME NISSAN VEHICLE OWNER EXPECT TO BE TREATED BETTER.

Gain your authority back, debt free!

Have you considered bankruptcy? If you include all the bills plus renegotiate the cars or explain to the judge the circumstances if Nissan appear at the bankruptcy hearing, he may rule in your favor. As well as a bankruptcy will give you a new start during the two years companies claim they need you wait to open new accounts.

Your bank has credit cards to rebuild your credit plus work with a credit repair service to wipe off old debts even ones included in the bankruptcy remover from your credit like Mr. Credit Orlando.

Save your marriage and forgive Nissan your hearts were in the right place to buy two vehicles, finish being a team.

Sutherlin Nissan Of Orlando Deal Review from Orlando, Florida

Worst deal ever!! I understand that the dealer needs to make the best of each trade with the clients in order to keep the dealer operation; also, I understand that as an adult who signed an agreement like this had to be as much educated as possible before signing it.

But, certainly, this was rip- off. I was tricked and felt overwhelmed by a bunch of numbers projected by one of the sales manager(Anthony) & sales representative (Alberto) and I ended up paying nothing closer to what I expected. I was lured into taking the 2016 Rouge S instead of the 2016 Rouge SV (the one we wanted) because under their eyes ' there was no way in the world' that we could pay $450 for a 2016 rouge SV with a 709 credit score & no down payment. Surprisingly, after over 4 hours in the dealer, tired & hungry, I agreed on the 2016 Rouge S which later realized THEY CHARGED/FINANCED ME $27,000 just for the car (without the extras); OVER $7K from the base price on any dealer.

Of course, everybody knows that for that price you can have at least the 2016 rouge SV and maybe the SL on a great deal. But they masked all the numbers really well. Of course they have a financial manager (Sam) who either didn't care or let it slide. Anyway, by the time I came back to claim this to another Financial Manager (Javier Acevedo), he reported that it was too late because the only thing I heard from him was that I already signed the contract and he wasn't that day to determine the deal agreements.

Come on!! Someone has to do something about this. Got there hoping to pay $420-$450monthly. Ended up paying $500 and driving an extremely overpriced (over $34k) 2016 Rouge.

Great job Sutherlin Nissan in Orlando! You have a very unsatisfied customer.

We purchased a 2014 Nissan Sentra S, the basic Sentra model. We spent at least 2 hours negotiating the terms, because the salesman, and then the manager, kept increasing the price. When they found out that my wife is not American, they took advantage of us both by basically frightening us into signing the financing agreement. They automatically increased the interest rate and the terms, and then took me into a separate room, closed the door, and told me that they need to look into her background before we can purchase the car. The salesman and manager said that they will contact IRS to see her legal status, and that we might have to pay more for the car, even though I was financing, and not my wife, but her name was to be on the title.

After about an hour of separating us and dealing with us individually (are they the police? did we commit a crime?), they finally said to us that we can purchase the car but that the interest would be slightly higher and they increased monthly payment by $80/month. When we were hesitant about buying the car and were thinking about leaving, the manager told us that if we leave, our credit score will go down substantially because the bank will think we are poor, and that if we go shopping to a different dealership our credit score will keep going down.

After another hour of back and forth, they ended up increasing our payment from the original amount we negotiated. The pressure that was exerted upon us, together and separately, was absolutely tremendous. We ended up getting a really bad deal. This week we went back to the dealership because we wanted to trade in our car to bring the payments down. The car had 10,000 miles on it and only driven for a year. We found out that we had over -$7,000 depreciation in the car (in one year with the car being brand new). They refused to work with us and said we will accept your car back but now your payment for a new car, lease or financing, would be much higher. They were trying to pressure us to get a basic Nissan Versa for over $400/month with $1,000 down! That is outrageous. When I told the manager that I can lease an Infiniti for that price he just said, "Really, huh." They refused to work with us, and wanted to rip us off the second time.

It is not possible for a brand new car, with 10,000 miles on it, to depreciate almost 50% in the first year. The explanation: we were ripped off. Avoid this company. Nissan is a great company, but the dealership is awful. If you want a Nissan, go to a different dealership.
